Chairman - G. Edward Noonan
Ed
Noonan is the founder and Chairman of Contravisory Research &
Management Corp. As Chairman of Contravisory, Ed serves as the
firm's chief equity market strategist. His additional duties include
servicing institutional research clients and portfolio management.
Ed has worked in the investment industry since 1962. Prior to
founding Contravisory, he was responsible for portfolio strategy
and securities analysis at Connecticut Mutual, Advest, and Fidelity
Investments. He is a member of The Boston Society of Security
Analysts, The Institute of Financial Analysts, and The Market
Technicians Association. He holds a Chartered Financial Analysts
designation and has made presentations to several investment industry
forums.
He is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B.) and Georgetown University
(M.A.).
President & Chief Executive Officer - William M. Noonan
Bill Noonan is President and CEO of Contravisory Research &
Management Corp. Bill's duties include managing the firm's equity
research efforts, servicing institutional research clients, and
equity portfolio strategy.
Bill joined his father at Contravisory Research & Management
in 1995, following several years as an investment professional
with Scudder Funds and Fidelity Investments. Prior to that, he
worked for the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico City, where
he conducted research on cross-border trade issues.
Bill graduated from the Catholic University of America and received
his M.B.A. from Babson College. llege.
Chief Operating Officer - Philip A. Noonan
Phil Noonan is Chief Operating Officer of Contravisory Research
& Management Corp. Phil's responsibilities include managing
the firm's investment assets, portfolio strategy, and client service.
Phil has been Vice President of Contravisory Research & Management
since 1998. Prior to joining Contravisory, Phil was an investment
professional at Massachusetts Financial Services, Inc. and Fidelity
Investments.
Phil is a graduate of St. Anselm College.
Senior Vice President – Frank Boland
Frank Boland, a 40-year professional in the investment industry joined Contravisory in April 2007. He has worked with individual and institutional investors, specializing in equity investments. His vast experience includes an eight-year tenure as a Portfolio Manager with Legg Mason Securities, which was purchased by Citigroup Smith Barney. He has also held posts with Alex Brown Investment Management in Baltimore, MD, Clark Dodge & Co. in New York City, Reynolds Securities and Lehman Brothers. Frank, originally from the Boston area, attended Boston University. He is the former President/Chairman of the Children’s Law Center of Massachusetts, a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing legal representation to children with complex legal problems. Frank has four children and eight grandchildren and makes his home in Marblehead, MA.
Senior Vice President – Matthew Sullivan
Matthew Sullivan joined Contravisory Research & Management in May of 2007. He has taken the position of Senior Vice President in charge of daily operations. Matt is a 15-year veteran in the investment industry. After starting out at State Street Bank in 1992, Matt progressively advanced his career to the level of Vice President within the operations division. He has more than 12 years of management experience. Among his accomplishments at State Street, Matt was recognized in 2003 for creating a new operating model leveraging technology and improving productivity by more than 100%, a model used by the entire division of more than 3,000 personnel.
Matt and his wife are active in their local community. With the help of their four children, they organize food drives for an area food pantry. They also organize an annual fund raiser for an area non-profit.
Matthew graduated from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY with a Bachelors degree in Business Management.
Vice President - David Canal
David is Vice President of Contravisory Research & Management
Corp. As Vice President, David manages Contravisorys trading
operations, contributes to portfolio strategy as a member of the
investment committee, performs statistical analysis on Contravisory
data, and assists in managing the firms equity research
efforts.
David has been with Contravisory since 2000. Prior to joining
Contravisory, David has worked at both American Express and JP
Morgan Chase. David is a graduate of Providence College with degrees
in Finance and Management.
Operations Manager David Gately
David is the Operations Manager for Contravisory Research &
Management. Dave is responsible for the daily administration of
client portfolios; investment accounting; account reconciliation;
and portfolio performance. Dave also assists in all aspects of
client service as well as marketing efforts for the firm.
Dave holds the Series 65 license (Registered Investment Advisor
Representative). Prior to joining Contravisory, Dave worked at
Congress Asset Management and in Mellon Financials Private Asset
Management Division. Dave is a graduate of Saint Anselm College.
